>>286920yes, adaptation of the sequel
>>286927it's better than last few seasons of handmaid's tale at least. first ep is great, tho after that it's kinda mid

>>286935why would you watch the handmaid's tail unless it was because your girl wanted to watch it.

>>286940bc it's interesting and macabre even if silly. book setting is slightly more complex and better bc gilead is racist af too and sends blacks and hispanics to reservations to farm barren land and expels jews (process privatised so they just get dumped in ocean by contractor or sth)
>>286946no it's more direct sequel and follows (in the book) the daughters of the main character from 1st

tho wats silly is normies wear grey (in tv series at least. tho respected professions get some leeway), majority of ppl, but then upper classes and their entourage have dozen colours for random roles
i love colour and uniform coded social classes in theory. it should be more complex than brave new world, but not as silly and arbitrary as this

also so many good characters. lydia, vidala, estee, shunammite, becka, hulda, agnes
unlike in tht where it's basically just serena, lydia, and maybe janine

i watched it
I don’t think the cast is as good as the original, although they were more seasoned adults. cast is still pretty good, though. I think they jumped the shark a little bit with the murder that maybe should’ve happened in a later season or in the finale. I don’t think Becka was developed to where it made a lot of sense yet.
it’s fine. watchable feministslop, hopefully they do something more interesting and satisfying with it than the original series.
