Nah I mean that would imply the massive popularity of environmentalism among a large social group (IDK, possibly 30% of the population) while I remember seeing green parties' statistics far less stellar, like 5% popular vote or something. which that small amount of seats in the pic in 2025 implies too. Though my best guess at this point be that they voting for greens not because of environmentalism lol

looked up yougov, and tho it doesn't let me set two criteria at same time, age wise at least green has plurality occasionally (don't underestimate boomers' political participation and lack of participation from others), and w/ women it would be slightly further elevated enough that i believe this chart

also it's not really "swing" when it's support going from 20% to 25% or sth (pretty typical range for some party during any year) and vice versa, just accentuated by the fptp system

I knew about discrepancies between the percentage of the votes and the amount of seats the parties would get but still I usually would not assume a 5% voter amount change would completely flip the parliament. IMO such system shouldn't exist lol, like this is a mockery of democracy
