Lately been learning C. Maybe this will help me defeat the LLM and datacenters. Somehow. Maybe gonna do something with it

Also, played Hades, and it is really good game. Its just nice, I like how it was made, the gods and stuff, Nietzsche wouldve love dat. Probably

wat will u use c for ?

i haven't played games in two months. trying to sleep more, x hours outside, y hours studying, and there's not much left. ok maybe there would be if i didn't use ib's

don't want to be rude genuinely curious how that's going

Dunno. At first, I read book about UNIXes and decided to learn C because thats all UNIX in C. But now I dunno, I want to make something with it. Like a game or something, I dunno, just want to know it because it is very handy. You probably abandoned all manual coding to prompt engineering
>>297993
Eh, playing games sucks ass. Feels like waste of time… unless it is a good game like Hades, then I guess playing all day isnt so bad. Funny how it goes. Are you studying only Japanese and French still?

no. i think we're having mass unemployment and/or singularity b4 i'd be able to get any kind of degree

so need to think of alternatives
>>298000
yes make some game
>You probably abandoned all manual coding to prompt engineering
no i've never tried that. but i should, it seems like a powerful tool. especially in gamedev. i think it's good tool if u already know how to program like u or me, but otherwise i don't get ppl using them

gaming is good bc it's de-stressing. not all day but some amount. esp as balance to studying or working or etc
>Are you studying only Japanese and French still?
yes not reading rn but adding loads of words to recall deck (ie writing deck) and writing long minutes every day (fingers hurt)

for french i was supposed to use chatgpt plus's voice chat. it works very well, but i don't know wat to talk about w/ it. even tho u can tell it to guide the conversation, it's still awkward. last time was over a month ago too. but yeh it's macabre unholy tech to u

tho even just grinding kanji (now at 2.8k) and not reading anything for months, my reading ability has still gone up a lot

Eh, dunno, if Im gonna make a game it gonna be very basic either way. Ive been at it for two weeks now and I kinda get hang of it, which surprises me a little. Dunno, now I can just write everything I want, at least I feel like it

This LLM bull shit, it sounds good but it is some inhuman stuff that brings no joy or no fulfilment wat so ever. It must be convenient and handy for people, but I cant support dat

I see, well, I just continue learning Japanese and Duolingoing French by inertia. I have no idea if I ever would need them. So, you dont want to go studying now. I really want to though, but Im really too lazy for my own good

where the anime pics @ ? is this the end of an era ?

eh i don't really get wats supposed to be hard about c compared to other ones u used b4. it's all the same thing. i didn't have problems when trying c++ or java, it was just bit more typing than normal, and learning y u have to do that bit more typing. otherwise it was same thing

i don't like the development either but i'm not being asked. i should use it, there's just no alternative really. maybe there'll be singularity and ppl start uploading their minds to cloud. in which case i'd still remain on earth and lead a peaceful life. but i'm not sure we'll get the choice. a lot is happening and it's only going to get more hectic

yeh same, by inertia.. well i want more things but my concentration is a wreck from short form content. well maybe don't reply here but in private instead so i'll transition there again too

Nah, just dont feel like posting anime picture at the moment. But you can imagine that it is always there, and it would be as intended

Eh, I dunno. In nicer languages, you have slices, more reasonable undefined behavior rules, no implicit conversions, and many more niceties. In C, there are arcane things that just dont feel right, not to mention pointer arithmetic and all the thousand of ways you can use memory wrongly. In C, almost nothing is an error, you can pass wrongly typed parameters to functions and it will work, because of implicit conversion. So, it is not really just more typing, in Go I could launch goroutines and have them communicate by channels as first tier language feature, in C if you want coroutines or any async you have to either write own or use library. So, yeah, I guess wat I wanted to say is dat it takes effort for it to feel convenient

That sound dumb… You have choice not to use it, best freedom you have. I dunno, millenials imagined future as really bizzare, really utopian. But there are still no hoverboard

Dunno, maybe Ill write some time. But Im gonna post more on this board though. I guess I feel that I dont really share stuff

Long ago, in a finite state far away, there lived a JOVIAL
character named Jack. Jack and his relations were poor. Often their
hash table was bare. One day Jack's parent said to him, "Our matrices
are sparse. You must go to the market to exchange our RAM for some
BASICs." She compiled a linked list of items to retrieve and passed it
to him.
So Jack set out. But as he was walking along a Hamilton path,
he met the traveling salesman.
"Whither dost thy flow chart take thou?" prompted the salesman
in high-level language.
"I'm going to the market to exchange this RAM for some chips
and Apples," commented Jack.
"I have a much better algorithm. You needn't join a queue
there; I will swap your RAM for these magic kernels now."
Jack made the trade, then backtracked to his house. But when
he told his busy-waiting parent of the deal, she became so angry she
started thrashing.
"Don't you even have any artificial intelligence? All these
kernels together hardly make up one byte," and she popped them out the
window...

Damn you still write single cell or maybe this is just old picture

It is really hard to write for a hour a day, I dont do dat. But you can write the same amount in shorter time if you begin writing properly

You have to start writing four cell and you have to start learning writing in shorter way. Just try to think of how it can be written in fewer strokes but still be understandable to you. Writing one cell is really slow and really inconvenient. You can write faster if you begin writing in semi cursive or just you can learn how to write wrongly if it makes you writing significantly faster. So long you remember strokes by memory, it is enough, most people who write a lot in notebooks have practically own character forms and dat is okay

yeh it's still same and pic from today

well it's just temporarily that high bc added +700 vocab writing cards recently (almost all 2-3 character words). but it's still exhausting. single character revisions have dropped to a flat 30 a day (could increase their max interval since getting 100% on most days). bit lower and could do same as some chinese where they revise once a month or something. i don't like cursive but i may have to look into it 😭

  No. 298413 [PM]

>>298411
Eh, I have writing deck but I really struggle to write daily. I mostly just do vocabulary and dats all. I still get like 200 cards a day revision, I rarely add new cards now because I do other things

Its not so difficult, the half cursive or 行書 is really simple and logical. If you write properly then it is really easy to write, you can contract many radicals to one stroke or just some wavy line. You can look up on internet some examples and youll get the idea. You can also look at how simplified Chinese characters look when written, which is gonna be the fastest to write and probably more correct(in purely calligraphic-metaphysical meaning)

i just have compulsion to finish all teh revisions daily. tho think it's bit bad bc it makes me unable to sleep longer, and is slight additional stress each day

tried looking some examples. didn't find great resources but seems it's bit like how i've been changing starting place of 2nd stroke in 口, and making it continuous w/ 1st one, dat kind of intuitive stuff
multiple dots become loops etc
雲 is good example, becomes 5 or 6 strokes
wel i'l practice it more
